The team behind Cytely

Computational biologists, application scientists, and software engineers — based in Lund and focused on one problem: reproducible fluorescence measurement.

Our team

Philip Nordenfelt, Founder of Cytely

Philip Nordenfelt

Founder

Philip identified the inter-instrument reproducibility problem through cell biology research at Lund University and built Cytely to address it at the infrastructure level. His background spans quantitative fluorescence microscopy and research software development.

Erik Larsson, Lead Computational Biologist at Cytely

Erik Larsson

Lead Computational Biologist

Erik leads the algorithmic development of Cytely's flatfield correction and intensity normalization methods. He has a background in image processing and statistical modeling applied to biological imaging data.

Sara Lindqvist, Application Scientist at Cytely

Sara Lindqvist

Application Scientist

Sara works with users to configure standardization protocols for their specific instrument setups — from widefield HCS platforms to point-scanning confocal systems. She is the primary contact for onboarding and protocol validation questions.

Jonas Bergstrom, Software Engineer at Cytely

Jonas Bergstrom

Software Engineer

Jonas is responsible for the Cytely Analysis Engine — the processing infrastructure that handles native microscopy file format ingestion, parallel batch processing, and pipeline integration with CellProfiler, MATLAB, and Python environments.

Work with us

We are a small team building focused infrastructure for the life sciences imaging community. If you work in computational biology, image processing, or application science and care about quantitative measurement quality, we want to hear from you.
